A flamboyant piece of architecture in Cognac
Completed in 1889, the historical château was originally commissioned by Monsieur Emile Pellisson to be his family mansion. Designed by the Parisian architect Antoine Lisch, it was inspired by the French Renaissance and displays a profusion of sculptures and decorative symbols - some of them integrating the Pellisson coat of arms.
The château used to be the place for magnificent receptions; yet it also experienced dark days, in particular during the Second World War when it was occupied by German soldiers.
In 2009, Raynal-Pellisson decided to sell the château and its production facilities in order to ensure the growth of its market, but kept its head office in the town of Cognac.
